Wine hunting tips

Don't just go to grocery and licqour stores looking for these wines.

Take some time to scout your area for wine and cheese shops as well.

It will worth the find just to have located one! And if you do locate one let me know and I will tell you some cheeses you may wish to check out.

So far we have only had Pghguy, Courtney and ME (whom I haven't met before...welcome!), and Annette (who doesn't seem to be playing but I hope joins in.) report their findings.

Come on I know there are more of you out there wanting to join in my reindeer games.

Sound off people!

I heart the wine and cheese store we go to. Just haven't had a chance to get over there yet.

The man sells Stilton. And this fresh ricotta that is TO. DIE. FOR.

Me: You're most welcome. As soon as everyone finds a mutual wine and tells me which one it is I suppose.

Then we have to decide on a sunday and a time we can all get together and do it.

Courtney and I have visited two of the four liquor stores we frequent and have only found one on your list so far. But the two we haven't gotten to yet are more promising!

Oops, sorry, I was going back to the original post, and didn't relaize you'd posted the first list. I'll start looking tonight.

The best place to look around here will be Market of Choice, they also happen to have the best cheese selection in town. They're surprisingly good for a grocery store. They carry a lot of european cheeses as welll as a good selection of American artisan cheeses.

Yesterday I acquired:

- Penfolds bin 389: Austrailia Cab-shiraz

- Casillero del Diablo Carmenere

I'm still looking for the others.

An update: I took a bottle of the Casillero del Diablo Carmenere over to friends' house for dinner tonight and it was wonderful.

(Yeah, I know, getting a bit ahead of the game here, but that one is GOOD.)

:)

That is what I like to hear my friend!

Glad we had the opportunity to share a bottle of wine.

Even though it wasn't over food that I would have put out. ;-)

Another update. I have the following:

- Penfolds 389
- Casillero del Diablo Carmenere
- d'Arenberg Custodian
- Pillar Box

Awesome!

I do not think most people will find that custodian, so maybe you me and trouble can have our own tasting!

I am having NO LUCK, but I have only been to 2 spots. They don't let me out much. I have heard from a friend who I showed the list to his recommendations, but haven't found any yet. I will keep trying.
