Wine 101 Suggestion

The idea has been put to me that maybe I could host a virtual tasting once a week. Maybe suggestion a fairly easy to find wine and then on sunday evenings sit down online with a group and discuss it.

This sounds ok to me and I am more than willing to do so if you guys are willing to go out and seek said wines and meet here on my blog on sundays to talk about it.

What do you think about that idea?

p.s. new wine article is in the works please be patient with a hard working chefinator.

You know, though it would be great for *everyone* to find a specific wine you might list, you could always tell folks that if they can't find the exact bottle (or year) to pick up a different bottle that is similar in price and vintage.

So for example, if you wanted to to a virtual tasting of a 2004 Sterling Chardonnay, and for whatever reason someone couldn't find it or get it they could substitute a 2004 Kendall-Jackson Chardonnay. Just a thought. ;)

The idea would be for everyone to have the same wine so it could be discussed. So that everyone would be on the same page.

Too many variables with differnt wines.

And while I might suggest a Sterling Chard, K-J will never be a suggestion I make. ;-)

Just trying for a similar price range, Sweetie. You're the expert.

But really, I would think *most* wines should be pretty easy to find.

You'd think, but that really isn't the case. I am lucky that I work in a place that hasa 1500 bottle boutique list. Of wines most people just CAN NOT get their hands on at all.

Wines are also allocated. So some areas in citys states and regions of the country can have access and some can not. Even in the same city you might not get allocated any of the wine youa re hoping to sell.

But I have about 4 I am going to send people in different cities on a quest to see how hard they would be to find in various areas and go from there.
