It's true.
My girlfriend is batshit.
But since I am at least as batshit as she is I suppose that it's ok.
We keep having these weird little implosions. Don't really know their genesis. Odd things send us both into a tailspin. You can never really tell.
I had a minor freak out yesterday about her travelling to Pittsburgh when I learned that she was going to be meeting friendbots. (a descriptor I coined to distinguish between real life and online friends)
Not that I am in any way worried that she will cheat on me. Quite the contrary. I have absolute faith in her being faithful to me. She just isn't built like that.
But some background on me:
I was married before. I was madly in love with my exwife.
One night while I was at work I got a text message on my phone that read
"Sorry to do it this way but I'm leaving you. You'll need to catch a ride home. the car will be there."
No shit. Left by text message after 8 years of marriage.
What happened? Well she fell for a friendbot who also happened to be married.
So it's a little disconcerting for me to learn about things that are similiar in nature to or remind me of things that happend to me before. Ya know?
While the 2 women could't be much more different and I know that she won't lie to me or go run off with some other guy. Still that sinking feeling in my stomach hits pretty hard and fast sometimes.
And it just takes me a while to calm down and realize that they are not one in the same.
Any way had a good long weekend with her after we both settled from the other night.
It was great right up until she got outta bed this morning to get on a plane. bleh.
But soon she will return to me.
A man had given all other bliss
and all his worldly worth for this,
To waste his whole heart in one kiss
upon her perfect lips...

Hey Chef,
You don't know me but I met Trouble in PGH earlier this week.
Wow! After reading your post I can understand your concern with her meeting up with us. Holy shit man that was messed up.
Keep blogging Chef I like your attitude.
Holy shit is right! I had to read your post to my hubbie... I cannot imagine getting that text message.
Love the friendbot label, reminds me of something Anthony Bourdain would say. And that is meant with all due respect!
I agree with the second anonymous (the first doesn't count, stupid spammer). Anyway, we (me and Stevie) met your wonderful Trouble the other week here in Pittsburgh. She was nice and friendly and was constantly texting you to make sure you knew that she was okay.
